Martin Duckworth is a veteran filmmaker and cinematographer. He has directed thirty documentary films and has acted as DOP on more than eighty others. His own films have won numerous festival awards, including Quebec critics' best film of 1980 Wives' Tale, Genie for best documentary of 1985 No More Hiroshima, and Hot Docs best documentary of 1994 Brush With Life. He started his career as organ player and football player in Halifax, switched to History and long-distance running at Yale (BA) and the University of Toronto (MA). He taught for seven years in England and New Brunswick, then worked another seven years as staff cameraman at the NFB in its golden years of the sixties.
