With my close collaborator Simon Bujold<\/strong>, I am just back from Cuba, where we were filming the artists Annie Roy<\/strong> and Pierre Allard<\/strong> of ATSA<\/strong><\/a> as they participated in the 10th Havana Biennial<\/strong><\/a>. The theme of the event is Integration and Resistance in a Global World<\/strong>. Annie and Pierre made an installation called Cannonballs and Bubblegum<\/em>, a way of speaking about the repressive and destructive aspects of consumer culture – a kind of warning to people who live in a context of shortages but whose society might well experience huge changes in the decades to come. This was one of the last shoots for our film Creative Emergency<\/em> (working title) produced by Amazone Film<\/strong><\/a>, already in editing and likely to be released before the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Avec mon complice Simon Bujold<\/strong>, je suis tout juste de retour de Cuba, ou nous avons film\u00e9 Annie Roy<\/strong> et Pierre Allard<\/strong> de ATSA<\/strong><\/a> participant \u00e0 la 10e Biennale de La Havane<\/strong><\/a>. Le th\u00e8me de l’exposition est Int\u00e9rgration et R\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque de la mondialisation<\/strong>. Pierre et Annie sont venus faire une installation qui s’appelle Boules de canon et gum-balloune, <\/em> fa\u00e7on de parler des dimensions r\u00e9pressives et destructrices de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de consommation, sorte d’avertissement pour un pays qui vit la p\u00e9nurie mais qui risque de vivre des changements importants au cours des prochaines d\u00e9cennies. C’\u00e9tait un de nos derniers tournages pour notre film Urgence Cr\u00e9ation<\/em> (titre de travai) produit par Amazone Film<\/strong><\/a> – nous sommes d\u00e9j\u00e0 en montage, le film devrait sortit avant la fin de l’ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n
